Bespoken

As people who know me know, I love suits. Well tailored suits. James Bond-looking suits. So its only natural that this enthusiasm gets translated into my designs. Although my sketches may not be the neatest I assure you the end result will be so refined…. Jheez. Compared to off-the-peg, its like VHS to Blu-Ray, well that’s what I aim for anyway.

This week I’ve envisioned a menswear collection. Style: Tailored Formal vs Casual Urban. Demographic: myself!

Where am I going with this? I think its time for me to hang up the New Era cap, fold the exclusive Tees and box the custom kicks (well maybe not the kicks). Its just a recent change in preference, which coincidentally, I feel with benefit me in the long run. Its time to represent my work; and to be taken seriously by others I myself must first take myself seriously.

I’m quite excited about what I’ve come up with so far, so much so that I’ve decided to organize a photoshoot just for this. Check back for the pics yall, but AFTER the converse tribute!

Today I feel quite dense, I hope this post makes sense!

Walking the Hardest

2008 was the centennial year for Converse. Brands rise and fall, fads come and go, and surviving a century is defiantly an achievement not to be taken lightly.

August 1st saw the release of this leather jacket inspired Chuck Taylor, celebrating their 100th anniversary. Almost a year on, these kicks are STILL the most elusive trainers I have ever searched for. No one I know has even heard of them, let alone seen them.

On August 1st 09, I will be purchasing fresh Chucks to customize in tribute of the limited .ed leather ones I just couldn’t get my hands on. I plan to take the gold prototypes I made last year even further, ‘nuff said. (all photos but one were lost in a digital fire…)

Check back for pix if you wanna get your fix!
